Hello, good afternoon! I have an e-commerce and I am interested in this module, but wanted you to see if it is worth buying to use in my e-commerce platform www.metrossexuais.com.br is opencart version 1.5.1.3 I notice a big improvement with this module ?
Hello Rafael,
Thank you for your interest in NitroPack.
We believe Nitro is compatible with Opencart 1.5.1.3, so you would not experience any issues there. As far as improvement goes, we ran a report on your website: http://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=www.metrossexuais.com.br&tab=desktop and your score comes up as 48/100. Please note that with NitroPack your score will be definitely increased.
NitroPack will not standalone do the job, you will still need a good server and correct configuration. Also you definitely need good developers who take care of the stuff that should be done manually like optimizing images, combining images in CSS sprites etc. Many of these tricky and manual hand labor customizations are available for a direct purchase directly from NitroPack. Having said this NitroPack will do surely do a great work for you, but the few things left (which are always neglected by other developers, since they are the most time requiring activities) will surely boost your website speed and eventually give you a better ranking and website speed grade.
Hope this helps.
Overall awesome - We used it to get from Page Speed 56 to 89 and other people say they notice the increased speed.
A couple things in the plugin can cause huge server load than can actually crash your site. But toggling the settings and playing around to dial it in seemed to work good for me. Just be ready via FTP connection to change the vqmod folder name in case a process starts to crash the server and you loose admin connection, then change name back to vqmod and quick go change that setting back. Let your server fully crash, some processes just bog it down for 10sec or so, others you will notice increase rapidly and also fill RAM and Virtual Memory.
The CloudFront S3 setup with amazon is still bugging out with errors, but CloudFlare is good to go. The Smushit plugin crashes the server after 10k images or so. Definitely needs to be faster on the scan side, most of the time is wasted scanning already smushed files. Or have more of a failproof record of smushing process. Most of the time if it crashes - you can only "Start a New Smushit" and not resume..
This module has some bugs that need fixing, but I'm happy with this overall. I've babied many of sites to greatness and Nitro is worth the $80 or whatever, for all the improvements it HAS done. Page/Site load times faster than 85% of sites? That's a good score in my book!
