Automated backup issueThis discussion has been marked as solved |
Just bought this yesterday and I'm having issues with the automated backup. While your example video does not match my Dropbox interface I've managed to set it up with “Full Dropbox” access as far as I can understand. However there are elements like OAuth2 and Drop-ins Domains settings that I'm unsure if needs to be adjusted or not for things to work smoothly.
Manual Dropbox backup work but it does ask for approval each time (is that normal I thought that would be a onetime access and approval thing?). Beyond manual backup, the automatic backup does not work for me, I've setup a cron and verified that it works. I’ve also tried just running the script file manually in a browser which I presume should work? It just gives an empty page and no backup appears in my Dropbox.
Help and guidance as to what may wrong would be highly appreciated
Created ticket since it seems there is no action nor help to get via the forum and was instructed so via a comment made on the OpenCart Extention for this module (guess I should have created that ticket originally, though failed see the ticket system). ** forum case closed **
Hello Christian,
Apologies for the delayed reply. As elaborated in the ticket, the 48 hours response time is not guaranteed for the forum posts.
I will respond to your questions here as well, since the answer could be useful for other users, which might experience the issue with the automatic backup.
Since your Manual backup is working, this means that the Dropbox App is properly configured. Issues with the automatic backup may arise as a result of web server configuration, or from an older version of the Dropbox SDK, which AnyPort uses. Here are a few recommendations: 1) Make sure that AnyPort is upgraded to the latest version. 2) Make sure that your web server has the setting "register_argc_argv" set to On. 3) Make sure that Automatic backup is enabled from the AnyPort admin panel and that the Automatic backup credentials for Dropbox are entered. If everything is properly configured, AnyPort's admin panel will display the command you need to copy-paste in your CRON job admin panel.
If the above recommendations are met, it can be assumed that the issue is caused by a bug in AnyPort. If this is the case, our support team is ready to assist in the Ticket support system: http://isenselabs.com/tickets/open

This is standard behavior for the Dropbox implementation in AnyPort. The Dropbox SDK, which AnyPort is using, is created to use OAuth 1.0, which does not support configuration of this feature.

This does not work, since browser requests are blocked in the CRON job script for security reasons.
Hope this helps.
