Hi i tried installing this with the extension installer and nothing happened

a little info i am running opencart 2.0.1.1. and i'm using the all black theme 

so i tried installing your other method which at first looked like it was working but once i went to the page of the item that needed to be pre ordered it threw an error

Ok i have tried everything to get this to work and no one seems to want to offer any suggestions

It looks like the module's ocmod file doesn't hook to the product page in the right manner, which is most probably due to the custom theme that you are using or some other modifications that you have in your store. The new version of the module will be compatible with more themes, so I would suggest you to download and install the new one, which will be ready by the end of the month.
