[iSenseLabs Weekly 70] New OpenCart Features & Fixes, Video Tutorials and Latest E-Commerce News

The time has come for number 70 of our iSenseLabs Weekly series! We’re glad you’re enjoying them so far and hope you’re finding them useful. We are always open to suggestions, so you can let us know if there’s something missing or if there’s something you think we should change.

Last week, we released a lot of updated modules, but this week there’s a special one. SEO Backpack has a new version with a lot of new features and improvements, such as the 404 Detect and 404 Redirect functionalities.

Make sure to always update your modules when you see a new version is released!

SEO Backpack 2.4 (OC 2.0.1.x to 2.3.x)

New feature: 404 Detector > Detects all 404 pages visited by your customers.

New feature: 404 Redirect > Allows you to redirect the 404 pages discovered from the Detector to existing pages in your store. Both features are combined under the "404 Manager" tab.

New feature: Canonical URL Support for home page, products, categories, information pages, manufacturers and the special page.

New feature: Added H1 tag support for the products. Available for editing from the product edit form and from the "Advanced Editor" in SEO Backpack.

New feature: Added H2 tag support for the products. Available for editing from the product edit form and from the "Advanced Editor" in SEO Backpack.

New feature: Added auto-link support for the category description in the category pages.

New feature: You can use the [id] short-tag in the URL builder for the product SEO URLs.

Improvement: Added support for LoginToSeePrice.

Improvement: Better layout for the product listing in the "Advanced Editor" tab in SEO Backpack.

Improvement: Added install script for better compatibility with OpenCart's OCMod functionality.

Bug-fix: Added compatibility fix for the manufacturer page title in the front store.

Bug-fix: Correctly detecting if the "file_get_contents" function is enabled on your server.

Bug-fix: Fixed issue if the an information page has no title when generating SEO URLs.

Bug-fix: Checked if the module settings exist prior than calling the model methods in the OCMod file.

Bug-fix: The data on waiting list and archive tabs are shown correctly for multilingual sites.

FacebookLogin 3.0 (OC 3.0.x)

Improvement: OpenCart 3.0.2.0 compatibility.

Improvement: Converted the OCMod to an event.
