Editing Information Pages in OpenCart

The default functionality behind the Information Pages in OpenCart do have some limitations, but you can still use it to create a pretty good About Us page.

This is what you see when you open your About Us page after a fresh OpenCart installation.

Navigate to your admin panel and then click on Catalog > Information.

You will see the 4 predefined pages that come with the default OpenCart installation:

• About Us

• Delivery Information

• Privacy Policy

• Terms & Conditions

You can either edit them the way you want, or delete them and create new ones.

We will just click the Edit button on the About Us page so you can see the available settings.

General

The General tab is where you configure the Title and Meta Data of the About Us page.

Examples: About Us, About Me, About the Team, Our Story, etc.

It’s also where you enter the content that you want to display in the storefront.

Using the rich text editor, you can add and format written content, include images and also use the code editor to customize the layout, styles and appearance of the page.

Data

The Data tab lets you assign the page to multiple Stores (if running a Multi-Store setup).

The Bottom option lets you choose whether the page will be assigned to the footer or not.

When you are all done with the page, feel free to enable it so it shows on the storefront.

SEO

The SEO tab is one of the new things that we notice in the new OpenCart 3.0.

You can use it to give your page an SEO URL (if your SEO URLs are enabled).

Enter a keyword of your choice that you would like to show up in the URL when a customer opens your Information pages.

Hint: The most often used SEO URL by all types of websites is the one that matches their page title - about-us, our-story, etc.
