  • Multilingual SEO URLs

  • Improved Admin Data Filters

Now let’s see how everything looks like in the in a fresh installation of OpenCart 3.0!

New Admin Panel Interface

OpenCart 3 Dashboard

OpenCart 3.0 comes with a brand new interface in the admin panel. The design is more compact, with minor detailed touches.

The improved look is noticed all over the admin panel, so let’s take a deeper look and see what’s new.

One of the first things we notice is the user’s icon in the profile menu.

The profile link leads to the editing section in the admin panel where you configure your profile details.

A small new addition is the category menu hover as well as the new hamburger menu outside of the main vertical container.

Multilingual SEO URLs

OpenCart now supports multi-lingual SEO URLs! Whatever the main language of your store, you can use it for the URLs to all your pages.

The SEO Keyword is now moved to a new tab (SEO) in the Category editing field.

This is the keyword that will be used for the SEO URLs if you wish to use them and get them enabled.

When everything is set, here is how the URLs look like in the storefront:

New Admin Filters

There are new filters for your data all around the admin panel!

Your first encounter with the new filters is in the Products.

OpenCart Products

They are located on the right hand side of the screen. You can search products by the same values like you would in the previous interface.

The new layout looks better, more organized and is easier to work with.

Like in the categories, the SEO Keyword for the products is moved to a separate SEO tab.

The changes you make here are reflected on your SEO URLs in the storefront.

Here is an example of how a product URL looks like after you enable the SEO URLs in OpenCart:

Moving on, we see the new filter in the Reviews section in your Catalog. You can filter all your product reviews by product, author, status and date.

Events

There is not much new in the Events apart from the layout of the event list and the presence of the basic event codes that you can enable or disable and view their Trigger and Action using the Info button.

Events are used by OpenCart extensions to modify the default OpenCart functionality.

The Design section is the next place where major changes are taking place.

OpenCart 3 Theme Editor

Theme Editor

The theme editor lets you make any changes you want to the code behind your OpenCart store straight from the admin panel. You will be using the Twig language.

You can select the template you wish to edit on the left and make your changes in the text editor on the right.

If you are running a multi-store setup, you can edit the templates of your different stores by using the Choose your store field at the top.

The new Theme Editor is one of the most important additions to OpenCart, since it gives you direct access to modifying your default template and start improving your storefront design straight from the admin panel.

OpenCart 3 Language Editor

Language Editor

You can now edit all of the texts in the storefront, whatever languages you are using. The language editor is very simple to work with and understand.

You need to select which Route contains the element you want to edit and then choose it in the Key field.

You will see what the Default text is and be able to enter the new one in the Value field at the bottom.

Here’s a quick example:
